Lingfield's 14:00 is a typically competitive handicap for the track with it being possible to make a case for many of the 12 contenders, particularly Lucky Di, Oasis Spirit and Chellalla. However the vote goes to the Michael Bell-trained Bouyrin, who boasted a consistent record on the all-weather last season and managed to get her head in front at the sixth time of asking when scoring over six furlongs at Kempton in February. The three-year-old actually took a step forward after eight months off when finishing second to Amosite at Wolverhampton earlier this month and there is every chance that she could pull out a little bit more with that return to action under her belt.
The 15:00 is another open race with plenty to consider but we shall side with Gary Moore's Guards Chapel, who was in good form on the all-weather earlier in the year and has now slipped to an attractive mark of 66. The five-year-old, successful off 69 at Kempton in February and over hurdles at Fontwell in August, was probably caught out by the soft ground at Goodwood when last seen and it is hoped that he can bounce back now returned to a surface that he acts on.
Shirataki and McBirney head into the 16:00 on the back of solid runner-up efforts but our preference is for Whitby Jet, who is well handicapped judged on his form on this surface last winter and he is fancied to return to winning ways. The five-year-old took a big step back in the right direction over C&D three weeks ago, left poorly positioned in relation to the trio that finished ahead of him having been held-up off a steady pace, and he looks to boast leading claims here.
