Henryville produced a career-best effort to win at Fontwell recently, impressing with the way he moved through the race, challenging on the bridle, and he could be worth chancing in the 14:40 at Exeter. Today's race, a competitive handicap hurdle over 19 furlongs, presents Henryville with a much stiffer task than the one he completed at Fontwell 11 days ago, but the style of the success strongly suggested that he could yet be open to further improvement, while his lightly-raced profile and the fact he is in the care of the excellent Harry Fry also bodes well for his future prospects. He looks likely to give a good account and is worth backing to progress again.
The 15:10 at Exeter looks like a competitive handicap chase but Toby Lerone, representing the in-form trainer Dan Skelton, makes plenty of appeal as a value proposition. Toby Lerone failed to convince over three miles as a hurdler and it was a similar tale over fences at Uttoxeter last time as he weakened close home having travelled strongly for much of the way, shaping better than the bare result. Dropping back to just short of two and a half miles will be to the advantage of Toby Lerone, while his stable's vastly improved fortunes (saddled three winners on Saturday) is clearly another factor in his favour, and he can prove that he is still fairly handicapped.
Desert Colours hasn't always looked the easiest of rides but he has been a different proposition since the blinkers were put back on, winning twice this month, and he can complete the hat-trick this evening (Kempton 19:30). Desert Colours has travelled noticeably smoothly in blinkers of late, twice making all to score at Wolverhampton, and he should take a fair bit of beating while in such good form, a mark of 59 by no means an insurmountable barrier based on his most recent success.
