We are off to Catterick for the first of today's SmartPlays, in which a chance is taken on Money Team (14.20) regaining the winning thread. Bill Turner's charge opened his account at Musselburgh in May and has subsequently performed with credit at a higher level. Money Team's short price looks justified on the basis that he is the only winner in the line-up, and has Ryan While taking a valuable seven pound off his back. He should have few problems and can kick us off with a winner.
It's off to Yarmouth for the second of today's SmartPlays in which Ismael Mohammed's Admiralty is selected in the seven-furlong handicap at 16.10. A winner on his three most recent outings, the latest victory coming in April, Admiralty has proven his ability to run when fresh and could be capable of landing the four-timer. It is worth pointing out that all of his wins have come on the polytrack, but he is relatively untested on turf and the surface isn't expected to pose many problems.
We remain at Yarmouth for our final selection in the hope that David Lanigan's unexposed Footstepsintherain (17.10) can send us off with a winner. Narrowly denied on both his starts this term, Footstepsintherain has shaped as if ahead of his mark and, with natural progression highly likely, it would be rather disappointing if the three-year-old didn't bounce back to winning ways.
