Timeform UK SmartPlays: Wednesday August 27

Racing come from Carlisle on Wednesday

"Sir Charlie Kunz ran well over ten furlongs at Beverley last time and looks on a fair mark..."

We're at Catterick and Kempton for Wednesday's UK Smartplays...

Giovanni Jack won in taking fashion at Musselburgh when last seen and can continue his good form in the 15:10 at Catterick. Still unexposed after just six runs, he looks sure to appreciate today's step up to two miles and can shrug off a 6lb penalty under Danny Tudhope. The three-year-old Arcamante appears the biggest threat.

Mark Johnston's Sir Charlie Kunz has his first start at a mile and a half in the 16:45 at Catterick today. He ran well over ten furlongs when returning from seven months off at Beverley last time and looks on a fair mark with plenty of improvement likely at staying trips. His main market rival has come out so it could fall to Stanarley Pic to chase him home.

In the 19:25 at Kempton, Winter Queen appears to have every chance of gaining the first victory of her short career. She went like the best horse in the race when failing by just a nose in a similar C&D event when last seen and races off the same mark today. With good claimer Cam Hardie on board she looks sure to go well. Gipsy Doll rates the most likely challenger.
