Frozen Over has remained in good form since scoring at Newamrket in May, putting up a number of creditable efforts in defeat, and he can win the one-mile handicap at Pontefract (15:00). Stuart Kittow's charge is a versatile and consistent performer and arguably ran his best race of all at Goodwood last time, faring best of those who attempted to make ground from the rear. Frozen Over is clearly still fairly treated and holds leading claims this afternoon.
Shesastar has had excuses on both starts since beating subsequent winner Dutch Rose at Doncaster in July and can bounce back to winning ways in the seven-furlong handicap at Yarmouth (15:20). Things didn't fall right for David Barron's mare at York or Thirsk, where she stayed on well close home without ever really threatening, but she still appears to be on a fair mark and the booking of Ryan Moore is an undoubted positive for a horse that has often displayed a tendency to race lazily. This is a competitive contest but Shesastar remains with potential from this mark and ought to go well.
We will take a chance on the lightly raced Blighty winning on handicap debut in the 15:30 at Pontefract. Lady Cecil's unexposed three-year-old didn't need to improve to score over a mile at Southwell last time, justifying his long odds-on quotes with ease, and, based on pedigree, should be capable of producing an improved effort now facing ten furlongs in better company. Having raced just three times, Blighty is clearly open to plenty of improvement and should make a bold bid.
