Market Rasen 13:00 - Straidnahanna
A winning pointer, Straidnahanna shaped well on a few occasions over hurdles last season, failing to win in that sphere but leaving the impression that he would be seen to much better effect over fences. Like many from the Sue Smith yard, Straidnahanna seemed in need of the run on his chasing bow at Kelso, failing to impress with his jumping, however, clearly much sharper next time, he put in a better all-round performance at Carlisle, bettering his hurdles form as he finished third. Entitled to improve again, the unexposed Straidnahanna could prove difficult to beat.
Wincanton 14:25 - The Brock Again NON RUNNER
Fairly useful on the Flat, and lightly-raced over hurdles for previous trainer Yannick Fouin, The Brock Again showed much improved form on his first start for Paul Nicholls, finishing third at Sandown, shaping well to boot, and he remains capable of better. The Brock Again led early, travelled well but could find no extra on the testing ground once headed. That form sets the standard here and, with further improvement on the cards, he represents a good bet.
Market Rasen 14:40 - Dunlough Bay
Dunlough Bay was gambled on starting out for Dan Skelton at Worcester, but his jumping let him down over the larger obstacles, making mistakes at crucial stages. He went through much of that race like a horse on a handy mark, though, and he is worth another chance, particularly now that he is back over hurdles in a less-competitive race.
