We have all day to salivate over our potential windfall courtesy of today's bets, as they take place in the final three races at Kempton. Tarbawi is a pretty short price in 18:55 following his second-placed effort at this track last week but he is no longer progressing and it could be worth taking him on with the Richard Hannon-trained Eminently, who is a half-sister to the high-class Reverence and is out of a mare who won the Flying Childers. The two-year-old showed much improved form on her second start when winning a Haydock maiden in September and she was not seen to best effect in a listed event at Newmarket last time, racing off the pace and being forced to switch to the centre of the track. She could well have more to offer on her nursery debut, and is well worth taking a chance on.
The John Gosden-trained Derwentwater has improved steadily during his three starts in maidens, seemingly learning throughout, and he is fancied to go very close on her nursery bow. The Raven's Pass gelding, out of a five and six furlong winner from the family of Oh So Sharp, didn't offer a great deal on debut over C&D in August but he has stepped forward on his subsequent starts, at Lingfield and Yarmouth, and it is most likely that he will continue to progress.
The final race at Kempton this evening is fairly competitive, but the Jim Boyle-trained Atlantis Crossing is taken to emerge on top. The three-year-old won handicaps over C&D in May and at Wolverhampton in September and he went on to run his best race yet when third at Lingfield at the end of last month, deserving of plenty of credit for getting into the shake-up from some way back in a race run at just a fair pace. There is no reason as to why he won't go well once more and he can see of likely main rival Oratorian.
