Kempton 14:00 - Beltor
Beltor created a fantastic impression when winning on his hurdling bow at Ludlow, beating a pair of subsequent winners, and he looks an exciting prospect. Beltor was fairly useful on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott, but he has the potential to make a much bigger impact in this sphere for his new yard, and he's worth following closely. Nicky Henderson's Bivouac sets a fair standard but Beltor is the obvious improver and could offer a spot of value.
Newcastle 14:20 - Smooth Stepper
Dropping Smooth Stepper back in trip to two miles wouldn't have been the obvious move, but he's improving quickly and should be capable of landing the hat-trick. The slow pace at Wetherby last time wasn't in Smooth Stepper's favour, but he impressed with a sustained surge, leaving the feeling he would have won by further granted a stiffer test, and he remains on a good mark. He should prove difficult to beat.
Kempton 15:45 - Easter Day
Easter Day is potentially attractively handicapped based on his beating of subsequent RSA winner O'Faolains Boy at Ascot last season, and he looked like proving that point until coming down three out at Cheltenham last time. Easter Day was still travelling strongly, looking the most likely winner when he came down, and the menacing manner in which he moved through that contest marks him down as the one to beat, an easy three miles arguably going to prove his optimum trip.
