Right Regal has been below his best in two starts this year, but he should find Wolverhampton's 15:00 considerably easier than the pair of handicaps he has contested so far and is taken to gain a confidence-boosting victory. The four-year-old, trained by Marco Botti, had some strong form in maidens last year, finishing in amongst the likes of Coupe de Ville, Mehdi and Mickdaam (all now rated over 100 by Timeform) on his first two starts at Newmarket. His tendency to find little is a slight concern but this is a marked drop in grade and he looks to hold leading claims.
Dutch Rose (17:15) has made a fine start to life for her new stable having left Ralph Beckett at the end of 2011, winning her first two starts at Catterick and Ripon, improving on anything that she had shown before on the latter occasion to land a fair sprint handicap. The three-year-old shaped much better than the result on her latest start, when third at Redcar, as it had proved difficult to make up ground from behind all day at that meeting, the held-up Dutch Rose doing well to get as close as she did to the more prominently-positioned pair that beat her. Dutch Rose is unraced on ground softer than good, but she has to be worth chancing to land a third career win.
Circle of Angels (20:25) won a Hamilton maiden 12 months ago when trained by Mark Johnston, and got back to that level on her return from a five-month break at Chepstow last month, finishing third to Bold Cross. The four-year-old was held up that day before making good headway to lead a furlong out and just losing out in a bunched finish. She is allowed to race from the same BHA rating of 59 here, and ought to go very close.
