Confidential Creek, owned by the Timeform Betfair Racing Club, shaped well at Beverley on debut recently, more so than the bare result would suggest, and he can get off the mark in Musselburgh's 13:50. Trained by Ollie Pears, Confidential Creek showed promising speed to track the leaders, travelling well, and just tired late on against some race-fit rivals. Theraputic, who finished second that day, reopposes, but Confidential Creek is expected to improve past that rival with his debut experience under his belt, and the sharper track looks set to suit.
Course specialist Chookie Hamilton (16:00) shaped as if he were coming back to the boil when fourth at Haydock on his latest start and is taken to add a sixth track win to his CV. The eight-year-old is best not judged on his penultimate start, on debut for his current yard, as he was not granted a clear run and could never get on terms with the leaders. However, the aforementioned Haydock outing was a step back in the right direction, the gelding making good headway to challenge before his effort flattened out. The winner from that day, Veloce, has gone on to score since and Chookie Hamilton is taken to do the same.
York's 16:45 strikes as being a fairly competitive heat but it can go the way of the Robin Bastiman-trained Green Howard. The four-year-old is lightly-raced for his age, making just seven appearances, but his strike-rate is hard to pick fault with as he has entered the winners' enclosure on four occasions. Green Howard's 2012 reappearance at Catterick represented a career-best, leading inside the final furlong and winning with something in hand, and, having being largely progressive last year, he is taken to continue his upward curve with today's contest looking set to be run to favour his hold-up style.
