We kick off proceedings with what looks a fascinating novice hurdle at Doncaster (13:40) with the hurdling debut of useful flat performer Area Fifty One. Now in the care of Nicky Henderson and with Barry Geraghty in the saddle he will undoubtedly be popular, but its better to side with Dubai Prince. He wasn't seen to best effect in a steadily-run race at Kempton last time and looked a horse of serious potential at Leicester prior to that. He can bounce back here and take this contest on his way to bigger things. The useful Varom also merits respect in what looks one of the more competitive contests today.
We head to Huntingdon next for a tricky handicap hurdle (14:55) in which Seven Woods gets narrow preference to take the contest. He got off the mark at his third attempt over fences at Wincanton in May and has made the frame on all four starts since that occasion. If he is capable of translating that improved level of form back over the smaller obstacles then he holds live claims, although there are dangers as these are always competitive contests. Josies Orders and Milan Bound look dangers for Jonjo and JP whilst Carole's Destrier could be well handicapped if coping with the step up in trip.
We remain at the Cambridgeshire track for our final bet of the day which comes in a handicap chase over an extended two-and-a-half miles (15:25) and recent winner Brandon Thomas rates as the obvious threat. However Moonlight Maggie probably would have won but for a jumping error at a crucial moment at Catterick last month and can make amends here. She failed to live up to the promise she'd shown in bumpers over hurdles but fences could be the making of her and today could be the day she puts it right.
