Timeform UK SmartPlays: Monday October 27

Two of Monday's SmartPlays run at Ayr

"Streams of Whisky's record fresh is sounder than most and given his handler's string appear to be in fine form, everything looks right for him to make a winning start to the campaign..."

Timeform bring you their three best bets from Redcar and Ayr on Monday...

Redcar 15:10 - Jammy Victory

Although Crakehall Lad is the obvious starting point following for this 14-furlong handicap following his C&D victory ten days ago, he may find this coming a little too soon. Jammy Victory is the one for our money after posting a solid effort when fourth on her handicap bow at Ayr last month, and has excuses for her run in a class 2 event at Musselburgh subsequently. She got racing from a long way out on that occasion and paid the price, but if she can bounce back to form and progress from her penultimate run, she may be capable of capitalising now set a more realistic assignment, and should be a decent price to do so.

Ayr 15:20 - Itstimeforapint

Itstimeforapint should be suited by the step up to this trip and given he remains unexposed in this sphere, he gets the vote for this handicap hurdle over three miles. He was unsuited to the drop to 17 furlongs on his handicap bow at Bangor last time he was seen, but he should encounter no such problems today and it would be no surprise to see him capitalise. It has been a few months since he's seen a racecourse but providing Lucinda Russell has him firing, he looks to have more scope for improvement than most others in the line-up. That said, Midnight Streaker and Winter Alchemy both merit respect.

Ayr 15:50 - Streams of Whiskey

We remain north of the border for the final bet of the day which comes in a handicap chase over 25 furlongs. It looks a competitive event for the grade with four of the eight set to line up all winning last time. Narrow preference is for Streams of Whiskey for the in-form Nicky Richards yard. He was last seen scoring at Haydock in April at the backend of last season and although the absence would be a concern for most horses, the selection's record fresh is sounder than most and given his handler's string appear to be in fine form, everything looks right for Streams of Whiskey to make a winning start to his campaign.
