Mon Successeur - 12:55 Newbury
Mon Successeur was back into odds-on favouritism over fences on his British debut, having won twice over the larger obstacles in his native France. He just lost out late on that day, and can be excused a flop over hurdles at Cheltenham last time, so is well worth keeping on-side returned to fences. The more seasoned pair of Drumshambo and Vision des Champs can give him most to think about.
Maximiser - 14:05 Newbury
Silsol, who beat Maximiser on the latter's chasing debut, went in again at Haydock last week. Maximiser was arguably better than the result that day, and with his career up to now being one full of promise, he's taken to land this Grade 2. It's as competitive a race as you'd expect, with smart hurdlers Three Musketeers and Activial heading the list of dangers.
Upepito - 14:40 Newbury
Things haven't gone right for Upepito since joining the Skelton yard: he split subsequent winners at Wetherby on his first run, then unseated three out when still going well at Aintree. Even though this is a competitive race, he can make it third time lucky, chiefly at the expense of Niceonefrankie and Monetaire.
