Timeform UK SmartPlays: Sunday November 16

It could be a good day for JP McManus

"...Regal Encore is taken to finally put it all together with a strongly-run two miles likely to prove ideal."

Timeform pick out the best bets on the final day of the Open meeting.

Howlongisafoot - 13:00 Cheltenham

Howlongisafoot made an encouraging return at Exeter last month and remains unexposed in this sphere so could be the one to be with in a fiercely-competitive handicap. In Fairness signed off last season with a much-improved effort to win at Sandown and he demands obvious respect on his handicap debut, while the hat-trick seeking Jayo Time is of firm interest again.

Uxizandre - 14:40 Cheltenham

Uxizandre posted a couple of very smart efforts in novice chases in the spring, second at the Festival here before landing the Grade 1 Manifesto at Aintree, and he shaped encouragingly without this headgear when fourth in last month's Old Roan Chase at the latter venue. He's narrowly preferred to recent Kelso handicap winner Simply Ned.

Regal Encore - 15:15 Cheltenham

Vaniteux is very interesting given his strong novice form, but he's plenty short enough in the betting for a race in which any number come into consideration, so with that in mind, Regal Encore is taken to finally put it all together with a strongly-run two miles likely to prove ideal. Clondaw Warrior's Flat form has taken off for Willie Mullins, so he has to be feared at the foot of the weights.
