Red Rouble has never been the most convincing of characters but he's proved he retains a good portion of his old ability since returning from a lengthy absence this term, and will be more at home back at this trip after finding 19f wholly inadequate at Towcester on Boxing Day. Merchant of Milan and Donapollo are also entitled to be in the mix.
Pepite Rose - 14:05 Doncaster
Pepite Rose has yet to fire on all cylinders this term, folding tamely in the Tingle Creek at Sandown in December, but she will take some stopping if back to anywhere near her best at this much easier level. Highland Retreat and Golden Sparkle remain open to further progress in this sphere and may be the ones to benefit if Venetia Williams' charge disappoints.
Gores Island - 15:05 Huntingdon
Gores Island has improved this term, displaying a likeable attitude when opening his chasing account at Lingfield on Monday, and he looks up to defying a penalty, possibly at the expense of Seventh Sky, who has been back on good terms with himself in recent weeks.
