Day 1c - Fortunes change for Team Betfair!
Today's 11 runners (Chelsea M won a seat for Gizmo) were confident as they approached the tables, but to be honest I was pretty nervous following yesterdays action.
Day1c
As soon as play got under way by Shane Warne the cameras focused on Betfair Pro "Annette 15". Nh Wp Fu - scared us all early on hitting a 2 outer to stop him going out of the tournament in the first 20 minutes. The first couple of levels were fairly calm for Betfair all players were finding the pace and settling into their game. Gizmo had it bad though as his Kings came up against another pair of Kings and the other player hit a flush putting him low on chips.
In level 3 IAMMULC who cashed in the main event found himself in trouble early on when he laid down a hand which would have won him a big pot, this put him on tilt and after a few hands he was out, he was soon joined by MIC3011 and callecas.
Annette had been moving round the tables and finally found herself next to Shane Warne (see attached), she had done well to move all in on a flush draw on the flop, and got called with a guy with pocket 6s- thankfully the river card was the heart we had been praying for. She finally went out when she was on the button - I had the luxury of standing next to Andrew Black who gave me a running commentary and he observed that Annette is the best female tournament player in the world and that there is no other female who can play as aggressively as she does. Anyway back to the commentary, she was on the button and squeezed making it look like she was stealing the blinds and found herself with two callers. The flop comes 10, 2, 3 and UTG bets out 10,000 chips the next player folds and Annette pushes (Andrew told me that she definitely had Ks or Aces) the other player thinks for a while and he is pot committed so he calls with his 8s to Annette's aces. The turn is third heart giving him the flush draw as well, and the river was an 8 leaving Annette with 150 chips, the next hand saw her heading to the rail.
Ted44 was really enjoying playing his poker- he had started the day with Lee Nelson and finished the day with Mike the mouth who was keeping him entertained, he finished on 10,300
JCRiver had a long day grinding but he ended the days play on 33,800.
Chelsea M had a bit of a yo yo experience, he would slowly work his way up and then have a few issues with bad beats, he played well and finished the day on 35,200
Kpax22 was on the same table as Chelsea M and they ended up locking horns at the end - Chelsea M told him to lay the hand down and he listened leaving him short stacked but still in the tournament 18,300.
Meanwhile Nh WP FU had been busy and having spent the earlier part of the day well under average he had worked his way up to a very respectable 88,400. At the end he said he was on tilt because he had not made a last longer bet with Annette!
Gattaca is Team Betfair's chip leader with 98,800 (26th overall) and had gone down to 15k, so he had been busy. He was grinning lots this evening.
ALLaddINN is still in and the only lady representing us now and she is on 22,800.
