"The chance to back Westmead Bolt at over [2.0] makes plenty of appeal."
Nottingham's Monday night BAGS cards are becoming a must with high quality races almost every week. Tonight is no exception, says Darrell Williams.
The Produce Stakes, being run at Nottingham for the first time this year, reaches the semi-final stage, and while Nick Savva's Westmead Bolt faces a tough line up in the second heat at 9:22, he looks drawn to avoid trouble and can demonstrate his phenomenal back straight pace.
Hesley Dingo, who beat Bolt's kennelmate Westmead Logan in the second round, and Romeo Active, impressive in both rounds so far, rate serious rivals, but could be looking for the same ground and the chance to back the selection at over [2.0] makes plenty of appeal.
Westmead Logan should win the other semi-final (9:07), but at around [1.6] I'm happy to just enjoy the race, and head to the supporting races for my other picks.
Frisby Forfun faces some nice sorts in the four bend open at 8:04, but with Boys Of Summer coming back from a lengthy break and East County, who's also been off and needs further, it's Chicago Prince that rates the biggest danger, but the selection has been in good heart recently and is playable at [3.0] or better.
Farloe Lee v Farloe Rocket is a potential cracker in the 8.19, and while I can't fault Charlie Lister's 'Lee' on his win last week, his old rival, trained by Barrie Draper offers potentially better value at around [2.7]. As the pair remain closely matched, Farloe Rocket therefore rates the pick.
