Sparklee Bernie makes the greater appeal and can also add to Seamus Cahill’s tally. He bounced back with a fast win over the 475m trip here, a track at which he clearly excels.
Rub the sleep from your eyes! Hove's matinee card provides the best bets of the day, but they're both this morning. Don't miss the boat!
Hove provides Open race fans with a spot of Sunday lunchtime racing, and while the in depth quality of some of the contests is perhaps below the usual high standard, it's still a more than welcome addition to the punting day.
I've lost count of the number of times I've recommended Jimmy Lollie in these columns recently, but Seamus Cahill's sprinter continues to churn out the victories and is fancied to do so again in the 11.28 - hopefully not too early for you on a Sunday morning!
A winner of five of his last seven starts over the CD, and holder of the track-record, few greyhounds see the track as often, but he clearly thrives on his demanding schedule, and is a major candidate for Sprinter of the Year honours.
Up against old rival Ballymac Pines, whom he has comfortably beaten in his last two starts, I expect more of the same, and while the odds will be prohibitive he can go in again. Take [1.7] or bigger
The four bend race at 11.58 is interesting, and while Low Flyer was tempting after two easy wins in A1 company, the more proven Open race form of Sparklee Bernie makes the greater appeal and can also add to Seamus Cahill's tally. Off the track for a couple of months, he bounced back with a fast win over the 475m trip here, a track at which he clearly excels judged on two earlier fast wins over this slightly longer trip. I'd be hopeful of securing at least [3.5]
