Eye On The Tempo is getting to like Romford with four wins on the spin, and can keep the sequence going in the featured Stayers final.
'Eye On The Tempo’s early-pace should prove too strong for his neighbours, and while ‘Carvalho’ is certainly no mug, the loss of the striped jacket has hardly done him any favours. While it might look a match on paper, I’m all over ‘Tempo’ at [2.2] or bigger'
Romford's regular Friday evening all Open race card provides our best chance of success today, with the featured Stayers final at 21.20 of particular interest.
Mark Wallis' Eye On the Tempo cost us dearly when beating favoured Pine Isle in a similar contest a fortnight ago, but there's no way I want to be against him on this occasion. Chasing a five-timer over the 575m trip, a fast start in the heats allowed him to keep main rival Droopys Carvalho at bay and I see no reason why this race will not pan out the same way.

The remainder of the card offers nothing anything like as solid. I did toy with including Me Buddy in the 22.08, whose Romford record is two wins and two seconds from four tries, but the race just looks too competitive.
Instead, we're row in with Brickfield Dream, who has been flying in A1's at the track recently and can take a weak-looking Open race at 21.36. Ernie Gaskin's veteran is more renowned for his six bend form, but has hit a purple patch since dropping in distance and is a worth a tickle at [4.0] plus.
