By no means a bad day yesterday with Little Jig and Carden Bert both obliging, and I really should have had the conviction to lay Sunoak Crystal.

Nottingham as ever brightens up a Monday evening with a plethora of Open races, but it's the two heats of the Autumn Puppy Cup that interest me most.

Diane Henry, who claimed she wants to be the next Charlie Lister after Ten Large Down's Northern Puppy Derby win the other night - Lister was kind enough to offer his own congratulations - fields that winner's litter-brother Honey Trampas in the second heat at 8.36. Already a competition winner himself, in the Silver Collar at Sheffield last month, he has already been round Nottingham twice in reaching the Puppy Classic semi-finals. My own worry is he hasn't run since that Sheffield victory nearly three weeks ago, but nevertheless I still want to play, provided I can secure at least [1.9].
