Liz Mc Nair holds high hopes for the Jan 08 youngster, and has already indicated he could be a dog for the Juvenile at Wimbledon
There are some potentially decent sorts among the entries in Romford's Puppy Trophy tonight, with one youngster particulary taking our eye.
With many of the usual suspects having been engaged in the Eclipse or supporting events, Nottingham's Monday night Open's have a less than usual high quality feel to them.
However, there's no alarm as Romford stages three heats of a Puppy competition which throws up one good bet and another potentially decent one.
King Lee looked a strong candidate for the Romford Puppy Cup back in September after winning his first round heat, only to be withdrawn off colour from the event. Liz Mc Nair holds high hopes for the Jan 08 youngster, and has already indicated he could be a dog for the Juvenile at Wimbledon. Set to make his comeback in the second heat tonight at 19.58, he looks worthy of a wager on the back of a decent trial and should be supported at [2.5] or bigger.
Rio Venturo got no sort of a run on his debut at Doncaster the other week, but has since proved his worth with a decent spin over tonight's Romford 400m trip - showing huge improvement from his previous look last month. Trained by the very shrewd Danny Riordan, the Jun 08 whelp looks fairly drawn outside three proven railers and is also worth a play in the first heat at 19.27 at minimum odds of [2.7]
