"Gordon Revived has only raced in this lowly A10 twice and both times has run well – winning once, and finishing 3rd last time having led until the final turn. He has also won an A8 and an A9 at Hove since late March, and should have far too much class for these if granted a trouble free run"
Ed Nicholson has tipped up three winners from four bets this week, and he turns his attention to Hove this afternoon for his latest two selections.....
Hove is a track I like. Its 515m standard trip provides greyhounds will plenty of opportunity to find their stride and form usually holds up well.
This afternoon's BAGS action at the Sussex track looks tricky in the most part, but I reckon we've found a couple of opportunities to get stuck into!
Mollyhell runs from the coffin box in the 3.07pm, a trap she has yet to win from in 11 races. However, she is relatively successful in this A2 grade having won four from 15 runs at this level. What makes her an interesting back on the card today is that she has the best recent sectionals and should, all things being equal, lead into and out of the first bend. If that was to be the case she has more than enough speed to hold challengers at bay. She isn't the quickest in the field - but is not far off, and her recent A3 winning time 30.28 is about as fast as any of these six dogs has run recently. Trap One, Determined Stand, is a danger if clearing trap two on the run in, as he has posted a recent 30.26 when behind greyhounds - however both the inside pair have similar pace up to the first turn and it may just be that there will be trouble on the rails. Mollyhell is worth chancing here - she's more than capable of winning in A2s as she has shown four times before, and I feel something is going to have to come from behind her to take victory away from her this afternoon. Take anything over [3.0].
Two hours later, Gordon Revived in trap two, can win the 5.07pm. The Premier Fantasy July 2007 whelp has only raced in this lowly A10 twice and both times has run well - winning once, and finishing 3rd last time having led until the final turn. He has also won an A8 and an A9 at Hove since late March, and should have far too much class for these if granted a trouble free run - something he should get as his sectionals of around 4.37 seconds (he has broken in 5.20secs) puts him ahead of his inside rivals in traps one and three. Trap four will show early speed and could lead our fellow into the turn, and being a March 2008 dog is open to plenty of improvement - but at present this one fails to stay the 515m at top speed, and will be shortish in the betting. Let's take anything over [4.5[ on Gordons Revived.
