"Over at Crayford I like the look of trap four, Dun Deal, in the opener at 2.18pm. The May 2007 whelp has been dropped down to A7 grade - where he has a 2 from 3 win/race record, and provided he can get away to one of his better starts, he would take an awful lot of beating, given that he has recorded a relatively fast 23.77 seconds recently. Take anything over [3.5]."
Ed Nicholson is going for a third consecutive BAGS winning Nap this afternoon and choses a dog from Crayford...although he also has opinions about the Northern Puppy Derby and a little race at Romford....
It's the Northern Puppy Derby Derby tonight at Sunderland (9.45pm), and it's live on SKY! And I have to say I be amazed if the race was won by anything other than traps one or two.
Nick Savva's Westmead Carl is well boxed in trap one, and with a 26.86 seconds to his name in this competition already, he will take a lot of pegging back if turning the first corner ahead of his rivals.
Ten Large Down is the danger, and he too shows early pace - and this middle seeded greyhound must secure a trouble free passage on the run to the first bend - but with only five dogs in the race, and two wides as well, his task has been made much, much easier than it might have been.
Ten Large Down has already won one puppy derby, at Henlow, while Westmead Carl has been place din two other versions. These two are both very talented animals and its odds on that one will be successful.
For me, the trap draw and make up of the race looks to have been kind to Ten Large Down and he is taken to keep up his great record at the track. Back him at anything more than [3.0]. This race promises to be a cracking event - and the other three dogs all look to have big futures at this game in the coming year too. Don't miss it!
Bargain Face looks to have been handed a first class chance this afternoon at Romford. She lines up at 5.22pm in the red jacket and although she hasn't won a race the last ten times she's set foot on the Essex sand, she has won one from one in this A7 grade, and is one from two from this trap. She will be a big price and I reckon you'll be able to get something over [6.0] on her this afternoon.
