Bandicoot Tipoki should be backed at the [1.5] mark at Monmore in the 5.22
"Bandicoot Tipoki showed tremendous back straight pace to extradite himself from what looked a difficult position to qualify behind Eye Eye Pickle last Monday, and the Puppy Derby winner, over this same course and distance, cannot be opposed and is worth a bet at around [1.5]."
Our new daily betting column begins today with a trio of back bets...
BAGS fans are in for a real treat this afternoon at Monmore where the Ladbrokes sponsored Gold Cup reaches its semi final stage, while there are also heats for the August Festival 630m and Puppy 480m contests as well.
Charlie Lister's Bandicoot Tipoki has drawn trap one in the third semi final at 5.22pm and although beaten at odds-on last time out, the Ray White-owned June 2007 whelp cannot be opposed on this occasion. He showed tremendous back straight pace to extradite himself from what looked a difficult position to qualify behind Eye Eye Pickle last Monday, and the Puppy Derby winner, over this same course and distance, cannot be opposed and is worth a bet at around [1.5].
Barbies Man beat Kellsboro Reject in the first round of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup last week, yet will still not be favourite to land the first semi final at 4.47pm. The November 2006 whelp has drawn the blue jacket and could lead both the trap one and trap three runners here and if doing so would be right on the tail of Kellsboro Reject and Mays Shadow. If that was the case I can see him outgunning the orange jacketed Kellsboro Reject late on and at the prices - (should be around [4.5] - [5.0]) is worth a bet.
Finally, over at Nottingham tonight I fancy the chances of La Barola (trap three 7.52). He's five from 12 at the track and has a nice make up here. He should be backed at anything better than [3.75].
