I am a 38-year-old 'City' based headhunter and an ex-banker. My sporting interests include cricket, horseracing and football but whilst supporting Man City I'm not yet dumb enough to bet on them. I also part own two horses trained by Jessica Harrington including the recently retired Gemini Lucy and I was dumb enough not to back her enough!

My passion for racing is a mix of loving the horses as animals combined with the geekier side of betting. I'm more likely to place-lay a horse from a stable out of form than have a serious win bet on a horse at 16-1. I don't yet have the mental tools to rely on a 'Nevison style' tissue but I plan to gain them before I die. I was a little late finding this wonderful sport and it was only in my mid-20s when I repeatedly backed that amazing front running hurdler 'Make A Stand' that I caught the bug - he made me think the game was easy. I was wrong.
