Martin Peters

Martin Peters, alongside hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst, remains the only England player to have scored in a World Cup final.

In a long and distinguished club career that spanned four decades, Peters’ sublime midfield skills graced Upton Park (West Ham United), White Hart Lane (Tottenham Hotspur), Carrow Road (Norwich) and Bramall Lane (Sheffield United).

Peters made his England debut in the World Cup winning year and remained in the national team squad until 1974, scoring 20 goals in 67 games.
