Joe Szekeres

Joe Szekeres is the latest member of staff to emerge from the BHA Graduate scheme and currently works at Timeform as a content writer in the editorial department.

He has been into horse racing for as long as he can remember and enjoyed visiting numerous southern tracks with his family whilst growing up. Vivid memories include being present for Frankie Dettori’s Magnificent Seven at Ascot in 1996 and attending the following year’s 2000 Guineas, where the famous Michael Tabor colours were worn to victory by Mick Kinane aboard Entrepreneur for the owner’s first ever British classic success.

Since then Joe has always followed the sport, with the likes of Dubai Millennium and Montjeu further increasing his interest, and being two of the five best flat horses he believes he has seen. He also takes an interest in the odd punt and is particularly proud of hitting the straight forecast in the 2006 Grand National and backing Makfi to win the 2010 Guineas, as well as persuading a friend to part with their cash on the latter investment.
