My background is from the IT industry where I worked as a software consultant for more years than I care to remember. However, when offered a voluntary redundancy package three years ago I gave up the company car etc. for the chance to do what I felt I always could be a “professional trader”. I had dabbled on weekends and evenings and hated the fact that I had to go back to the day job the next day.
