Adam Brookes had been hooked on racing since childhood before he took the plunge to travel south from his Birmingham home and arrive in Chelmsford, Essex, to study a degree in Equine Breeding and Stud Management.

Lucky enough to endure a few nips off a future Italian 2000 Guineas winner when undertaking work experience preparing yearlings in France, he believes the kick on the bonce from another burly colt doesn’t seem to have done him any harm.

After upping sticks again, Adam currently works in the online content team at Timeform and is a regular contributor to the Timeform’s SmartPlays and Daily Placepot tipping columns, amongst other things.
