All but the Five Diamond World Poker Classic will be played to a Re-entry format meaning anyone who busts out during Day 1a can re-enter, for the full entry fee, on Day 1b.
Last week the excellent Short-Stack Shamus sang the praises of the long-running World Poker Tour (WPT) so he, like thousands of others, will be delights that the WPT has announced the schedule for its eleventh season and its popular National and Regional Series, up until the end of 2012.
On the calendar so far are 11 events spread far and wide across the world but as yet there are no events scheduled for Asia; a region that many would love to see the WPT jet off to. However, there are a few new stops on Season XI's schedule including the event that kicks off the new season, the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic that runs between August 4-9.
The Merit Cyprus Classic will cost $4,400 to enter and will take place at the Merit-Grand Casino in the popular holiday hotspot Cyprus. It seems like the perfect way to kick off Season XI, sun, sea and red hot poker! From Cyprus the tour heads back to the United States, Pennsylvania to be exact, for the inaugural WPT Parx Open Poker Classic and it stays in the USA for the $3,700 buy-in Legends of Poker.
Those three events take place during August and September is just as busy with two European stop, WPT Grand Prix de Paris and WPT Malta before another of the "classics," the Borgata Poker Open. The tour takes a break in October, as not to compete with the World Series of Poker Europe, before returning with WPT Jacksonville, the first-ever WPT Copenhagen and WPT Mazagan (Morocco). Taking the tour to the end of 2012 are WPT Prague and the $10,300 Five Diamond World Poker Classic..
All but the Five Diamond World Poker Classic will be played to a Re-entry format meaning anyone who busts out during Day 1a can re-enter, for the full entry fee, on Day 1b.
The WPT Chief Operating Officer Steve Heller said of the upcoming season, "World Poker Tour is committed to extending its global reach. Not only will Season XI feature new stops in the US and abroad, but World Poker Tour is also widely expanding our Regional and National Series to deliver the WPT experience to as many players and fans as possible."
