Although Tuesday's Arc final on a gala 14-race Open card at Walthamstow is set to take centre stage at 21:45, there is no doubt that the Invitation Race to be run 35 minutes earlier looks an event that oozes quality.
The race would not be out of place as a Greyhound Derby heat if it were to be staged at the Plough Lane circuit.
The star-studded line-up sees Rough Region bid to bounce back to form in trap one after crashing out of last week's Arc behind Vipar Totti over the course and distance.
The wily veteran and slow-starting Zigzag Dutchman, who broke the 480m track record when landing the Birmingham Cup at Perry Barr last month, is drawn in trap two while the promising Blonde Buster, who was knocked over at the first bend in his Arc semi-final heat behind Zigzag Dutchy, also bids to put his career back on track.
Cobra Striking would have ideally preferred a draw out wide but comes out of trap four, while Eye Onthe Veto, the brilliant Essex Vase winner in December, bids to confound his critics over this shorter distance from trap five.
Finally the progressive Lenson Tearaway, who found all sorts of trouble before finishing four lengths behind Rough Region at the rear in last week's Arc semi-final, has drawn the striped jacket out widest of all.
