Reachfar and Orange flagged up

'Reachfar' and 'Orange' flagged up in 19:45

An open renewal looks in store for the Romford Stadium Maidens, run over 400 metres and due underway at 19:45, with Reachfar Giulio (T2) and the more experienced Orange Snow (T5) looking the pick of the pack.

Brick (T1) is something of an unknown quantity having finished at the rear following slow starts in both his races to date. Lorraine Sams' charge looks sure to win races in due course, but is best watched for the time being.

Reachfar Giulio (T2) is set for his first race for the best part of two months, and should be monitored in the pre-race market. Alison Ingram's challenger looked an above-average type in the making when finishing runner-up over the course and distance in 24:39 earlier in the year, and a reproduction of that peppy effort would probably suffice.

Grenrose Lilly (T3) shaped with promise when third on his Open race debut last week. However, with Jim Reynolds' youngster having failed to trouble the judge in six runs in A2 events prior to that solid effort, backers are entitled to act with caution.

Buckie (T4) is set for only his fourth spin in 2007 and may have had one or two niggling problems. However, John Mullins is well known for having his runners spot on following a break, and the January 05 whelp is no forlorn hope.

Orange Snow (T5) displayed a pleasing attitude when coming form off the pace to land an A2 event in a phenomenal 24:51 back in February. Maxine Locke's competitor was far from disgraced when third at this level last week, and the daughter of Droopys Vieri is expected to be doing sterling work from halfway.

Ballymac Thunder (T6) was the winner of his sole graded race at Tralee when based in Ireland, has failed to fulfil expectations since joining current connections. Paul Young's wide seed has been soundly beaten in all three outings to date, and the jury is out.

Jomax Plumber to dominate 20:48

The progressive Jomax Plumber (T5) looks the runner to concentrate on in the Romford Stadium Maidens, run over 400 metres and due underway at 20:48.

Millwards Lad (T1) has made good progress through the graded structure since landing a modest A8 contest last October. Paul Young's individual improved again when posting a best recent 24:62 last month, but has plenty to find at this level.

Marcus Brutus (T2) is expected to struggle in this company. Lorraine Sams' challenger looked a good prospect when landing his only race in Ireland last September, but has failed to trouble the judge in ten subsequent outings in Britain. Lightly campaigned in recent weeks, the April 05 whelp may have had training problems.

Toosey Tops (T3) is set for her fifth start since joining the powerful John Mullins kennel, and cannot be disregarded. The daughter of Top Honcho is normally slow to react to the opening of the traps, but will be staying on doggedly in the latter stages.

Cranham Girl (T4) looked a greyhound to follow when notching up three successes at the start of the year, but appears to have gone off the boil. With Jim Reynolds' pup having tasted defeat in all of her last seven races, improvement is a must.

Jomax Plumber (T5) is a much improved performer in recent weeks, and Maxine Locke's charge recorded his third A1 success from five races when making all the running in a fast time on Monday. His sole outing in Open company saw him pitched in at the deep end behind the smart Cagey Luke and with nothing of that calibre here, a bold show is anticipated.

Black As Coal (T6) looks open to more improvement than his rivals on paper following five career starts. If Seamus Cahill's representative manages to improve in the trapping department, he could emerge as a danger out wide.

Penalty kick for 'Cagey' in 21:36

Cagey Dougie (T1) looks the obvious choice in the Romford Stadium Standard, run over 400 metres and due underway at 21:36. John Mullins' Coventry raider looked in good heart when landing an Open at Sittingbourne in March, and has not been disgraced in decent company in two subsequent outings. The fact that the son of Daves Mentor is returning from a three-week break should not pose a problem since he looked well when posting 24:23 in his trial on Tuesday - a reproduction of that effort should see him win by a wide margin.

Glencoe Lass (T2) will try her heart out to challenge the front-runners at the corner, but is expected to fall short in that department. However, Jim Reynolds' honest individual displayed genuine improvement on the clock when capturing an A1 in 24:51 last month and second place looks a possibility.

Newlawn Ben (T3) looked a decent prospect at the start of the season, but appears to have travelled a good deal slower in recent weeks. Patsy Cusack's Crayford raider ended a frustrating 12-race losing sequence when registering the narrowest of wins last week, but needs to improve appreciably to feature at this level.

Good Luck Charm (T4) appeared short of petrol when fading badly into third behind Newlawn Ben (T3) last week, but is probably better than that form suggests. Jenny March's Peterborough representative is capable of a nippy start on her day, and cannot be ruled out.

Never Alone (T5) has to lead to win. Paul Young's competitor appears the type to throw in the towel if he fails to hit the traps running, and cannot be trusted.

Love Knot (T6) remains an exciting prospect after six career starts. Maxine Locke's promising youngster confirmed his well-being when landing a similar event last week, and looks the principal danger to Cagey Dougie (T1).
