Nottingham's Monday evening BAGS cards rarely let us down in terms of quality and tonight is no exception with three heats of the National Oaks holding pride of place, writes Darrell Williams.

While the National Oaks has attracted a classy line-up, two bitches stand out are both worth backing.

Little Jig (8:19) has some hot form lines, beaten less than three lengths in a major Hove final six weeks ago, but more importantly here can use her early speed to its full advantage. A narrow trial stakes defeat last week should put her spot on for this and I'd be looking for [2.5] or bigger.

Sunoak Crystal (8:52) has drawn by far the toughest heat, up against useful Plan and Brighton Belle winner Pine Isle, but for me no bitch is in better form at the moment and it just means we should get a backable price. Farloe Lee (7:48) went off joint favourite for the Puppy Classic final this time last week, and while things didn't pan out for him on that occasion, he had earlier got to within half a length of the winner of that competiton Eye On the Storm in the semi-final. While this company is of the highest order, it still represents a class drop and his draw in between two six bend performers looks ideal for Charlie Lister's dog to get first run. Odds of [2.8] plus would be ideal.
