Rotar Wing looks by someway the best bet of the day. Beaten only 1 ½ lengths by Jimmy Lollie on Eclipse final night, the selection faces nothing of that calibre here and should return to winning ways
In a bid to start a new week in the best possible fashion, we head to Nottingham and Romford for a couple of Open race picks on the BAGS cards.
Ahead of Tuesday's live Sky Sports covered Essex Vase final, host track Romford, together with regular Monday night comrades Nottingham provide the Open race action on BAGS.
And it's to Nottingham, and in particular the sprint at 20.19 that we turn our main attention with David Pruh's Rotar Wing looking by someway the best bet of the day.
Beaten only 1 ½ lengths in the televised Sprint final over CD by Jimmy Lollie on Eclipse final night last Thursday, the selection faces nothing of that calibre here and should return to winning ways after a run of six races without a win.
A likely leading player in the forthcoming National Sprint, his British career got off to the best possible start when winning his first five starts, setting two track-records in the process and while not quite at that level recently, he should be too good here. He should be backed at [2.0]
Over at Romford, Ardant Owen should relish the drop in class when he contests a heat of a Maiden Stayers Trophy at 19.27 having been highly tried in the Essex Vase on his British debut. Never a factor on that occasion after a slow start, his earlier trial reads well against this opposition, and having gone off not unfancied for that race just over a week ago, it's a run that is best ignored. Take [3.0] or better.
