It's another red hot Monday Open race card at Nottingham, where Darrell Williams fancies a couple of old favourites to kick start the week in the best possible way.

The Open race segment of Nottingham's Monday evening BAGS card lives up to its usual high expectations with Frisby Forfun of particular interest in the Eclipse Trial Stakes at 20.36.

On paper this looks a particularly fierce heat with Farloe Lee and Honey Trampas amongst the opposition. However, Ted Soppitt's Frisby Forfun has an obvious liking for Nottingham's 500m trip as he has won on all four of his previous visits and looks well drawn in trap one inside Rio Sanzio, a far from tight railer.

Farloe Lee won well last week from the same trap five draw, but for such a high class performer he does tend to lack consistency, and his problems could also be compounded by the early pace threat of top class puppy Honey Trampas in the stripes. Frisby Forfun looks better than ever since returning from a lengthy absence and rates a bet at [3.0] or bigger.

The Sprint at 20.19 also looks a useful affair, but Jimmy Lollie has been a fine servant to Seamus Cahill in recent months and can add to a win at the track earlier in the year. He is obviously a dog that thrives on his racing having run a dozen times since the start of September, delivering on six occasions, and looks ideally drawn outside two railers.

One of those, Centaur Allstar, has some fair form in the book, but has yet to race at Nottingham, while perhaps the biggest danger, Matts Mentor, who ran well behind the selection at Yarmouth in September, has now gone eight races without a win and can be opposed again. Take [2.5 ]or better.
