"Once again the two greyhounds are next to each other and although Greenacare Josh would be a danger if trapping in his best manner, Westmead Logan is expected to come out the better of the two from the traps and should not be missed at anything over [3.75].
Ed Nicholson turns his eye to Nottingham's meeting tonight, where there are plenty of Open races to get to grips with...including the Produce Stakes Final at 9.40pm
Nottingham's Produce Stakes Final takes place at 9.40pm tonight at Colwick Park and the money simply has to be put down on the favourite, Westmead Logan from trap four.
The Nick Savva Droopys Vieri September 2007 whelp put in a scintillating performance in the semi's to beat Greenacre Josh by four lengths in 30.27 seconds. He led from halfway down the back straight that day and clocked a decent 5.22 seconds sectional.
Once again the two greyhounds are next to each other and although Greenacare Josh would be a danger if trapping in his best manner, the Nick Savva trained black bitch is expected to come out the better of the two from the traps and should not be missed at anything over [2.75].
If there was to be any jostling between these two speedy types on the run to the first bend, then the orange jacketed Romeo Active, who won his semi in 30.26 seconds leading all the way, would have to come into the argument, and many may feel he is better value. But Westmead Logan is expected to get first run, and it may well be his littermate, Westmead Bolt (in trap two) who runs on to claim second spot. It promises to be a great final - and with £15,000 to the winner it's no wonder that's proved to be an outstanding competition this year.
Westmead Emily may not be quite as good as her littermates Westmead Logan or Bolt, but she is still open class in her own right and I expect her to make it a great night for the family by taking the 9.07pm over 500 metres.
She contested the Manchester Puppy Derby at Belle Vue and recently won at Monmore. That win will have given her confidence and I can see her really liking this galloping 500 metres - and I expect her to turn ahead of traps one and three. Drawn in trap two she can make her way home down the back straight, and I doubt anything will pick her up. Back her at anything from [3.0].
