"strong>Come On Clarkey has been hitting the crossbar of late – no less than two seconds, and three thirds in his last five runs – but it’s key to note that in all those races he has yet to hit the front – if he could do that, I reckon he would be hard to peg back – and I think he may actually lead the field out of the first two turns given this make-up tonight."
Ed Nicholson takes alook at Nottingham's BAGS card this evening, and unearths a couple of graders worth chancing....
Nottingham's BAGS card tonight has thrown up a couple of interesting opportunities.
Their best race of the night takes place at 8.51pm and I reckon Come on Clarkey in trap one can make all to land a much deserved victory in top grade at Colwick Park.
Come On Clarkey has been hitting the crossbar of late - no less than two seconds, and three thirds in his last five runs - but it's key to note that in all those races he has yet to hit the front - if he could do that, I reckon he would be hard to peg back - and I think he may actually lead the field out of the first two turns given this make-up tonight.
He's drawn inside a slow trapper, while the trap three runner could take the battle to him in the opening strides - but if he can secure a clear passage into that first bend, by virtue of running closer to the rails around the first two corners, I can see him turning down the back straight in pole position and then he needs to keep the fast finishing trap six at bay down the long home straight. Back him at anything over [3.5].
The meeting kicks off at 6.28pm where the trap four runner, Beechwood Bella is trying to land his third consecutive A7 race. He stays in the same grade as last time, and this early paced bitch is taken to land the hat trick. Beechwood Bella likes to dominate her races, and although either traps five and six could lead her, I just think this bitch can make her trap draw count around the first two turns - if that was to happen, then she may need a little help with the inside runners - as if one of traps one, two or three were to get loose early, then it count spell trouble for our selection later on. But there could easily be crowding on the inside and I take Beechwood Bella to have secured a long enough lead to hold on. Back her at anything bigger than [4.0].
