Daily Bags Bet: Back Devils to prove he's an angel!

Having tipped up a SP 7.0 winner yesterday, hot on the paws of a SP 3.5 winning NAP on Saturday, Ed Nicholson casts his eye over tonights card at Nottingham and finds one Open racer and one grader to follow this evening at Colwick Park.

There are seven open races on Nottingham's BAGS card this evening. And four of those contests contain short priced favourites. However, the one dog I like will not be a favourite. Romeo Maldini has a good record around this track and this staying sort seems to enjoy the sweeping bends and long running straights. There are no dogs older than him in Nottingham's 8.19pm, but I reckon it will be a case of experience counting as he is set to follow likley favourite Farloe Lee around the first two bends before asserting close home. The added bonus is that he can show decent early and could conceivably lead on the outseide - if that was to be the case he could well record a fast time around a circuit he enjoys. Either way back him at anything bigger than [3.0]

The other five races on the card may be graded contests, but two A1's, two A2's and an A4 mean that good quality greyhounds will be on show all night at Nottingham.

Devils Zezak (trap one) has a tremendous chance of winning his ninth race at the track this evening in the 7.16pm. The September 2005 whelp keeps his form well, and sticks to those Colwick Park rails like glue. He may well lead the inside runners into the bend, although the trap three runner has some smart sectionals to his name. But the great thing about Devils Zezak is that he stays this trip well. The key here is to get first run on the blue jacketed runner - if he does that I am sure he will run a big race and is worth a bet at anything over [3.5]
