Daily Bags Bet: Katies to surprise today!

Ed Nicholson takes a look at Monmore and Crayford today for the value BAGS bets...

Tonight's Monmore meeting has a nice mix of open races, handicaps and graded fare. I particularly like the 8.10pm where one of my favourite Nottingham dogs - Blueshavemorefun - contests a 684 metre Open race.
This May 2007 dog stays the standard 500metres very well at Colwick Park, and has raced at 730 metres recently, but I think this six bend trip will suit him down to the ground.
It's interesting that Blueshavemorefun has had a 480 metres trial and race at Monmore and I reckon he's worth taking a chance on at very, very big odds tonight. He' s in the Racing Post betting market at 10/1 and I reckon you could get [20.0] on him at Betfair as his form figures look distinctly uninspiring at first glance. But I believe he is capable of putting in a big run tonight and is a speculative value bet.
Meanwhile, over at Crayford I think I've found one in the 4.37pm. Katies Surprise in trap four may well turn the first corner in front, and having recently broken the 24 second barrier when last doing so, I think she will make every yard.
The Droopys Scholes 2006 whelp may have most to fear from the trap five runner who has a decent 23.78 seconds to his name, but being on that one's inside may well help Katies Surprise get a half length up as they come to that all important first bend at Crayford. She's worth backing at anything over [3.5]
