Ed Nicholson takes a look at Nottingham's card tonight and picks out a grader to back, and a top class open racer to lay....
"This top garde A1 event has its fair share of winners in the field, and Game Destiny drawn in trap one, won an A2 last time out when never headed, and provided he can wrest the lead from a slower starting trap two I feel he could make every metre again tonight."
Game Destiny looks to have been given a nice draw from which to launch a winning run tonight at Nottingham and the September 2007 whelp looks capable of leading all the way at 7.16pm.
This top grade A1 event has its fair share of winners in the field, and Game Destiny drawn in trap one, won an A2 last time out when never headed, and provided he can wrest the lead from a slower starting trap two I feel he could make every metre again tonight.
He consistently records sectionals in the 5.20's and is the fastest starter in the field - although the white jacketed runner has a 5.16 second sectional to his name, that looks like an aberration as he usually traps two or three lengths slower. Last time out Game Destiny galloped on resolutely recording a decent 30.89 - a time good enough to win here.
The main danger may come from the trap two runner who although should be held early doors could turn handy and follow our fellow through - but he has finished second too many times recently for me and I feel Game Destiny will just find enough to repel him close home. Back Game Destiny at anything better than [3.8].
There are some excellent Open races on the Colwick Park card this evening, with the 8.04pm looking like being a real cracker. One of my favourites Bandicoot Tipoki lines up in trap three - but he wont have it all his own way tonight as trap two is Eye Eye Pickle who runs this track so well, while in trap one Frisbee Fun and in trap six Yahoo Jamie could both win this as well. In the circumstances, I feel the best bet may be to lay Bandicoot Tipoki on this occasion as he may not have the best trap draw. Lay him at anything shorter than [3.20]
