Betfair Star's return from injury ended in a fifth-place finish at Hove but trainer Seamus Cahill is taking plenty of positives from it.
Trainer Seamus Cahill expressed himself satisfied with Betfair Star after our dog finished fifth in a Maiden Sprint over 285 metres at Hove on Thursday.
It was Betfair Star's first race since he finished lame on July 8 in a graded contest at Walthamstow when he injured a shoulder muscle that required extensive physiotherapy treatment and rest.
"I thought he ran okay. He got a wee bit involved in crowding at the bend and there isn't much time to recover in races at short as that. He was not beaten far (a shade under three lengths) and will have come on for the run," said Cahill on Friday morning.
The Hove says he will have Betfair Star checked over by his physiotherapist on Monday and will then decide on the next option for the two-year-old.
Cahill added: "I will give his next engagement some thought over the weekend. He appears to have come out of the race okay but I always like the physio to check them just in case they have picked up any minor injuries."
