Galipip Showoff looks a greyhound to follow after landing an impressive success in an A7 contest at Belle Vue on Tuesday night.
Displaying her quickest early pace from the machine to date (4.32 sectional), Ron Smith's unfancied pup led at the first bend before striding away to a length-and-a-half victory over Beverley Heaton's exposed Neilstown Ranger, with the remainder grouped up in behind.
The daughter of Late Late Show recorded a useful 28.68 - a time that looks particularly fast considering that Peter Gregson's Am Splendid managed to clock 28.97 when taking the A4 on the card, while Andy Heyes' Cinnamon Sal could only post 28.72 in capturing the A3 event.
The likeable Galipip Showoff, now the winner of two races from six lifetime starts, may well attract a fair amount of backers in her future engagements judged on this progressive display.
