Back-to-form Tullamore Breeze faces stiff opposition when he bids for a hat-trick at Belle Vue on Friday.
Trainer June McCombe had warned that her October 2003 whelp was returning to his best form and her popular kennel inmate duly obliged with two good victories at A1 grade.
In a career spanning 77 races, the son of Cool Performance has won 24 times, including an Open race success last year.
His supporters will be hoping he can achieve a fifth career hat-trick in Friday's A1 contest, but he must see off Cobble King who has won his last four races at this level.
The January 2004 whelp was given a bit of a mauling in Open action at Oxford on his penultimate start but is hard to beat at this grade and the race is set for a dramatic showdown.
The market for the race should make fascinating reading, as traders decide which of the two talented in-form hounds to support.
