Perry Barr should soon see a winning run from Whitehart Black at A8 level
"The key to Whitehart Black like so many other greyhounds, is that he needs to lead to show any form – if he has dogs in front of him at the first bend he sulks and just does not bother to chase as fast as he can."
Fancy backing some BAGS hounds? Then take note of these two.
Tiger in Brazil ran an eye-catching race at Nottingham on Monday night. The September 2007 dog, out of Derby hero Westmead Hawk, is all about stamina and he finished to really good effect in his latest A2 event. He was the youngest dog in that contest and as such you would hope he has more to come, especially as he has only raced 22 times, winning four.
He started his career at A7 and despite not winning an A2 race at Nottingham as of yet, he is more than capable of doing so. However, he does need room on the inside to do his running and middle seeds on his outer would be a major advantage. He had to check twice in his latest race - the card just says he was crowded at the 1st bend; that is true as trap 1 squeezed/bumped him all way up run in - however, he also had to come three dogs wide in the straight in between dogs. Performing this manoeuvre also meant he lost sight of the hare for a split second - you can see his ears pricking for a stride - but then he put his head down and ran to the line to take second.
He had previously finished fifth, fourth, fifth and a good run here probably has prevented him from doing down a ladder, but as such he may be given a 'division two' A2 next time rather than a 'division one' race. I expect him to start a big price next time - his run style and form figures indicate this is likely, and he is worth a bet.

Whitehart Black has finished sixth on five of his last eight races, and as such is normally unfancied at the track ... and even more unfancied by Betfairians. Last time his SP was 5/1 yet you could get over [9.0] on Betfair, yet he ran a good race to take third. The key to this dog, like so many other greyhounds, is that he needs to lead to show any form - if he has dogs in front of him at the first bend he sulks and just does not bother to chase as fast as he can. This dog is a great friend for a punter - because he will usually be a bigger price than he should be - simply because his form figures dictate his market value.
Earlier this week, Whitehart Black led until the run in and recorded a 30.44 going down by 1.75 lengths. He's contesting A8s but he recently won an A7 - again leading from the 'b' of the bang - in his early days at Perry Barr he actually came back strongly on the run in to win an A6.
Whitehart Black is a big priced A8 winner at Perry Barr just waiting to happen.
