"Is there a more inappropriately named dog as Clover Luck running at Nottingham at present? The Droopys Maldini April 2007 whelp has had an awful lot of bad luck in her recent races with the comment ‘crowded’ or ‘baulked’ appearing in no less than eight of her last 12 races - and the time before that she turned in her box!"
The Hawk has another pair of pooches who may reward an investment...
Beer Voucher had previously won an A9, A8, A7 before she contested an A6 at Hove earlier this week and despite being plum last with two turns to go still finished with her power-pack trademark finish up the home straight to get a medal - with one more stride she would have won. The grader has no option but to keep her in this grade and she must go on anyone's shortlist for the next week to 10 days at the Sussex track.
She does miss the break from time to time and can get behind early, but I feel in her current mood this July '05 Top Honcho bitch can make her mark in A6 at this time of year, she has already contested 14 at the level, winning no less than four, and providing she can get a clear run at the first two turns I can see her winning next time. I wouldn't put anyone off following her if she does win in an A5 event.
She has 15 wins from 118 Hove outings and knows these turns like the back of her paws, and provided she can get trap 5 again - she has now run in the orange jacket 50 times winning on six occasions - she is worth a decent punt next time out to make it four wins from her last five outings.

However, she definitely has the ability to win in her current A3 class, as those who made her market leader for her latest race earlier in the week know. It's true she has yet to win in this grade, but when she gets things her own way she is a good class animal. She won an A4 in a calculated 31.12 just three runs back, where she ran on well to lead on the run in - and if she can get away to level terms - and then gets a little luck in-running - she could be winning soon.
She probably needs trap four or five to be seen at her best, although she has run well out of the stripes finishing second on a couple of occasions.
