"Seattle Walk has been running well of late, and as long as he can get ahead of the red jacketed Lusty Lord at the opening bend, I think he’ll have enough pace to mow down likely leader Demense Delta in trap four down the back straight."
Ed Nicholson continues our new daily betting column with a pair of punts.
Seattle Walk has a nice draw from which to run from in today's closing BAGS event from Nottingham and there must be every chance that the veteran performer can notch yet another victory today at 1.51pm.
The July 2004 whelp has been running well of late, and as long as he can get ahead of the red jacketed Lusty Lord at the opening bend, I think he'll have enough pace to mow down likely leader Demense Delta in trap four down the back straight.
Seattle Walk posted his fastest three month time when finishing second last time out and that time was lengths ahead of anything his rivals achieved in their last races.
However, this is a top of the bill A1 event at Colwick Park, and any of these dogs could improve given trouble free runs. But, at an anticipated Betfair price of around [5.0], I feel it is worth chancing that Seattle Walk can get on the bunny in the inside and take the lead between the second and third bends before holding off all comers, especially as there are no renown strong finishers in the event.
Dan's Your Man looks worth a decent bet in Sheffield's 8.13pm tonight. The striped jacketed runner is a strong finishing greyhound, which may be perfect in this makeup, as the inside trio are early paced individuals and whatever inside trap doesn't get on the bunny will probably drop away tamely on the rails.
The June 2006-whelp has the best recent time of the sextet - the only one to dip under 30 seconds, an A2 event on 22nd June 2009. He has also won an A3 in 30.29 back on 10th July when coming from 6th off the final bend to win by a short head.
Although a fast finisher he may well be up with the pace on the outside as he has a comparable sectional time with both traps four and trap five, and as such he rates a decent bet.
