The blogosphere has been relatively quiet this past week, with a lot of the big names hanging out at various events around the world and the rest of us mere mortals cutting down on our posting volume, which usually means people are running bad!
"I was walking back to the office, lunch in hand when this pigeon takes off from about 30 metres away and decides to fly directly at my face."
One guy who is running horribly right now is Adam Clark, an online pro coming out of Britain's very own Las Vegas, Blackpool! Using the name 'Clarkatroid' for his blog, Adam actually blogs when they losing as well as winning, unlike a number of high-profile players out there! After absolutely killing the tables in 2008, with profits of $330,000, Adam has had a rough start to 2009 having essentially broken even after almost 60,000 hands played thus far! It goes to show that even the top players on the net run like dog dirt from time to time. On a more positive note, his Ford Escort restoration project looks sweet.
Usually, I am not the type of person who is into politics in any way, shape or form, but at the start of the week I caught the back end of President Obama's inauguration speech and I actually sat and listened until he had finished. What a great public speaker he is and one thing that came across was wanting everyone to become better people as we have lost our morals somewhat in recent times.
This was confirmed when I took a trip to my local supermarket, on "dole day" may I add, and saw that someone had put back some baby milk formula in order to be able to afford some alco-pops!, Disgusting really if you think about it.
One man on the receiving end of somebody's lack of morals and respect was none other than the legend that is Doyle Brunson. Now in his second century on this planet, 'The Godfather of Poker' was shocked to see that he had been included in a "Blend Celebrity Bucket List," a list compiled of celebrity's the writer thought would die during 2009. Brunson, placed at #16 on the list, was not impressed, stating "To start with, I don't consider myself a celebrity, so I don't qualify. But, if I did, I sure don't have any plans for kicking the bucket anytime soon and surely not in 2009." Whilst it is essentially bad taste, how many of us have not partaken in something like this? I remember sweating on Bruce Forsyth visiting the pearly gates the other year in order to win a measly tenner!
My English teacher always reminded me to finish anything you do in a positive manner and seeing as most of the above entry is a little doom and gloom, I thought I would share two blog entries that made me smile! First up is fellow Betfair writer 'The Cloud' who I have "known" for a couple of years now and his humour is on my wavelength. He describes how he "wasn't one of the cool kids at school, but I wasn't one of the uncool either," but in all honesty mate, if you were on Top Gear you would find yourself on the "seriously uncool" wall after admitting to buying......THE RADIO TIMES! LOL!
Finally, I think we can all relate to Greekstein's entry about the flying vermin that are pigeons! Whilst calling our feathered friends "The most evil creation in all the universe" may be a little over the top, his story about coming back from the office is hilarious as I have been in a similar situation where "I was walking back to the office, lunch in hand when this pigeon takes off from about 30 metres away and decides to fly directly at my face." Quality.
Well that wraps things up for another week, as mentioned last time out, if you think a blog deserves some airtime, leave a comment or drop me an email.

I think the reason why so many people don't want to blog about their bad runs is because they are too upset to discuss them, and by the time they get over it they just want to move on. Still, I've got to admire a guy that walks you through the whole thing: the ups and the downs.
