It seems like the recent cold-snap that has gripped the UK has had an effect on bloggers as there have been a severe lack of updates on all fronts. Even some of the more prolific writers seem to have taken a small break away from their keyboards, or maybe it is because a lot of you compile your entries at work and a lot of workplaces have been closed this past week. You naughty people, I'd never do such a thing!

"I find it a little worrying that he regularly asks his friend, Christian, questions such as "Was I too quick?", "Did I pull that one?" and "Am I too bent over.."

One blogger whose usual daily routine succumbed to the cold, white stuff was Carl York, known as Everton Yorkie in online circles. I've known Carl since he started playing poker for real money and over the past few months he has made some major changes to his game, put in a ton of work and has been reaping the results at the tournament tables, the highlight of his career being a victory in the $3 rebuy, where he beat 4,616 other fishes to claim over $7k. Whilst he seems to know how to lay traps at the poker tables, he seems to be pretty poor at avoiding them when it comes to snowball fights! Here he gets royally owned! Unlucky fish!

The poker player with the hardest surname to pronounce when drunk, Betfair's very own John Tabatabai, did not have to worry about the freezing conditions back home because he has been sunning himself in Australia, the jammy git! Representing Betfair in the Aussie Million, JT did not have the best of starting tables in the Main Event as he "had Annette on my immediate left, my friend and Betfair Poker qualifier Richard Mace on my right, and, to his right, another Betfair qualifier, Annika Ivert, who turned out to be chip leader after day two, with Annette in second position!!" Although he failed to cash in this tournament, he did manage to take down the $5,000 Heads Up Championship for a cool $100,000 worth of Koala tokens!

Whilst his Betfair team-mate was busy beating the likes of Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Sorel Mizzi was busy arranging an epic prop bet with the multi-tabling legend that is Elky. The two cash-rich youngsters will be seeing who is the strongest over a series of weightlifting events, followed by a tennis match, arm wrestling, treading water, rowing and more bizarrely, a nine-round kick boxing fight! With so much money at stake, I really hope they decide to shell out for a camcorder and film at least the fight!

A trait shared by a lot of top professional players is a team of helpers around them so they can concentrate on playing poker, without having to worry about the mundane tasks the rest of us have to perform each and every day. It probably won't come as a surprise to find out that Canadian/Romanian cow-dodger, Daniel Negreanu is a bit of a mummy's boy and rates her as the best vegan chef on the planet although I find it a little worrying that he regularly asks his friend, Christian, questions such as "Was I too quick?", "Did I pull that one?" and "Am I too bent over.." Make of it what you will!

If Random Poker Guy manages to cash in all his SPAM emails of the past week, maybe he too could afford a team of helpers to be at his beck and call?! I've had an influx of Spam emails over the past few weeks, including some written in German.

I think I'll leave it there for now. Next week I will aim to give some of the micro and low stake grinders a shout out as we never get any air time!
