A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way...

The Joker hadn't expected to hear a gag involving Sir Alex Ferguson and Michael Jackson last night, but so he did. Apparently the difference between the two of them is that Sir Alex will be playing Giggs in London this year after all.

And he would be well advised to. The old man has been in great form of late, which helps with the topicality of this column (it might have felt about three months out of date otherwise).

So, a bet on the United game this evening? Not when one of Sir Alex's old clubs are at home to Livingston in the Scottish Third Division. Livingston are favourites to win, but have won only 2/13 on the road this year, the same amount that East Stirlingshire have lost at home since March.

Fergie would know what to do.
