A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way...

Heidenheim were shredded 1-0 by Braun last night and your cheeky columnist was denuded of his sense of humour. But at least he's got all of the foolishness out of the way a couple of days early.

There's a big game to cheer him up in the Pro League this evening as Anderlecht visit Gent. They play at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, but it is Anderlecht's away form that has been most consistent. 28 points from a possible 30 got them to this new-fangled stage of the Belgian season - an ungainly three-tier play-off system that even a certain boy detective would struggle to decipher. Although they made the top tier of the play-offs, Gent were not especially successful at their Jules Ottenstadion, failing to keep any clean sheets in the regular season and going W1-D2-L2 in 2010.

Recommendation: Back Anderlecht at [2.16] to beat Gent
